Ok, so with a bit of time I have just scratched the surface of Zero’s site, but it’s all there. The Zero S does in fact have a brand new brush-less motor and 3 phase controller giving it a claimed top speed of 88 mph. However, it is still air-cooled which bucks the trends we see in the TTXGP and participating manufactures. The site claims: “Highlighting the new powertrain is sleek new venting and bodywork to keep the maintenance free and air cooled system operating at moderate temperatures.” The site also gives you EPA UDDS ranges as well as “commuter” ranges of a set 70 mph. There is also battery life info and charge times. It seems Zero has been doing their homework. Bravo Zero.
